Al plays many instruments
but started with guitar and bass - gigging, touring and playing many
sessions on both. He learnt to play keyboards in order to program sequencers
but on record has played many instruments.
Credits include: vocals, guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, Hammond, congas,
percussion, mandolin, mandola, cello and pedal steel.
“I've been fortunate to work with lots of great players and that’s
such a good learning curve. It doesn't matter how much you know, you
never stop learning. That’s what is so great about music".
Alongside his studio projects Al is currently gigging with John Jones'
(Oysterband) solo project and with Duncan Mckenzie's band.
He has also recently formed a band, The Ranelagh Renegades, with Al
Prosser, Dil Davies and Ian Kearey. They are booking gigs now and recording
an album later this year.
